नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय

सत्यम परम धीमहि

Stories and folk tales have always been deep-rooted in many of the cultures worldwide. India is no exception. The essences of the scriptures were retold through stories that captivated the imagination of the people especially the young ones. This was one way we could impart the knowledge to the younger generation. My memories of stories come from my grandmother, parents, and Amar Chitra Katha like many of the children growing up in India. I cannot thank PAI uncle enough (as he was fondly called) who brought out these amazing pictorial comic books.

Personally, for me, when I hear philosophical thoughts, lectures, or even read something deep, I immediately associate or resonate it with some story I heard or an incident I happened to hear of or something I read, and so on.

When Geeta Bhagini (Geetanjali Tiwari my teacher) asked me to tell the story of Jada Bharatha, I was super excited. Slowly I realised that it was not that easy because of the many other stories that are interlinked to it. (I did a bad job but they did get the story). That’s when it struck me that I could retell the stories for my friends and family. Meena (my friend and teacher) and Geeta bhagini supported my idea as much as I was excited about it and so that motivated me. Today it just came to me that I should start to retell the stories from the Bhagavatam.

I prostrate in front of my beautiful Bhagwan Sree Krishna on this day of Vaikunta Ekadesi (Jan 13, 2022)

Om Ganeshaya Namah

Om Saraswathye Namah

Om Gurubhyo Namah

Om Namah Sivaya

Janaki Kantha Smaranam jaya jaya rama rama

SARVAM KRISHNARPANAMASTHU

Seek blessings of my teachers and all the swamis and learned people whose lectures I listen to and who guide me every day. I shall soon start on the stories.

HARI OM

Kunti Sthuthi

When you watch the shores, we see the waves come and hit the rocks, the ebb and flow. Do we cry for them, life continues like these waves! We have seen so many cultures, cities, towns, that existed and perished. This is an ongoing process, nothing physical will last forever. Nothing that has a form can be permanent. That’s why path the Ishwara is the only way. KUNTI STHUTHI Krishna decided to seek blessings of his Aunt Kunti. Kunti had been a steadfast bhakta of Bhagwan. She saw Krishna beyond his form as did Draupadi. She was overwhelmed as to how much Krishna Bhagwan had done for her and her family. Despite all the human mistakes committed by her, he stood by her at every adverse situation. She had no doubt that he is Ishwara in form. No one is perfect nor was Kunti in her life. She had committed many mistakes in her life. Tested the mantra given to her when she was too young and had baby and then cast him away (Karna). She by mistake asked sons to share a wife Draupadi  (tho...

Bheeshma Sthuthi

If MAHABHARATA is Jayam Jayam (Bhauthika Dharma)                         BHAGAVATHAM is Tapa Tapa (Anubhava, experience) Meanwhile Yudhishtra/Dharmaputra was down depressed after the war had ended. He was laden heavily on guilt because of the different situation where he was forced into doing adharma. He was heavily burdened with wanting to go into sanyasa. To be away from the greed, revenge, that brought nothing but tragedy. He felt it was impossible for him to get a clean chit from his own conscience, and thus he felt that he wouldn’t be able to rule with justice. He refused to listen to Bhagwan’s and Vyasa Deva’s advice. He implored Bhagwan to leave him alone as he was determined to do what ...
